The latest evidence and analysis provided to SME Web would suggest that it is a good time to go into this sector, especially if you are based in the UK.

Of particular note in these difficult times was this:

This is an industry that is doing well, we expect more and more people to turn online - the first half of the year has been the busiest for e-commerce in Europe despite the economic slowdown.

Why not call us now to discuss how to get your business selling online? Or see our section on Online Shops.

One of the things we have known for a long time in the Internet business, is that getting online allows you to do a lot of business for very little outlay. Getting online, and using your online presence effectively is surprisingly cheap compared to more traditional methods of advertising and producing sales.

This has been echoed in an SME Web article, where I found the following quotes quite interesting:

One of the biggest challenges facing small businesses today is access to finance for growth, so, as the economic slowdown continues, the number one priority is to do more with less. Making the most of existing technology investments and using technology to respond quickly to changing business conditions and to open up new sales opportunities is a priority.

And businesses do seem to be aware that when money is tight, the Internet is still a great avenue to explore:

This is reflected in a recent survey, in which two-thirds (66 percent) of small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) said the Internet was a critical sales tool and 93 percent said it was an integral part of their business growth plans.

If you’re not using an effective online presence already, why not contact us today for a chat about how you can do just that?

Your Site Now! is now using servers hosted in one of the first data centres in Europe to power its infrastructure entirely with renewable energy, making their operation 100% CO2 free.

How is this achieved? A renewable energy supply contract guarantees the simultaneous production of the required amount of power at the moment of its consumption in the computer centres. The electrical current is generated from river water in hydro-electrical power plants.

The production of renewable energy is currently more expensive than conventional methods, however, using new state of the art air conditioning systems and energy efficient CPUs in all servers, the actual usage of energy is reduced by 30% which redresses this balance.
